Notes: This film adaptation of Irving Stone's biography of Vincent Van Gough succeeds on every level. Superb performance by Kirk Douglas as the tormented Van Gough but it was Quinn who won the Oscar for his portrayal of the painter-friend Gauguin. Memorable score by Miklos Rozsa. NSS No.56/134.
